The whitewater rafting season has been outstanding here in the Vail valley and across Colorado, and we’d like to introduce you to another one of our favorite rivers.

Rafting in Colorado

Colorado whitewater rafting is an exciting family activity or a great adventure for teambuilding, a group reunion or for the experienced rafter.

Whitewater rafting is broken down to five different classes: Class 1 and class 2 rapids range from a mild float trip to mellow whitewater, great for families and normally children as young as age 6. Class 3 whitewater is fine for the inexperienced but expect midsize rapids and getting wet. Class 4 and class 5 whitewater are big rapids, technical and are for the experienced.

Horseback riding and cattle drives in the central mountains of Colorado are for anyone interested in experiencing beautiful scenery. Is experience necessary? No,, but be careful of the outfitter you choose to go with and the terrain you are going to ride.. There are horseback riding outfitters in Colorado that only do trail rides meaning nose to tail, a slow walk, smelling the roses and enjoying the scenic views.. Then there are companies that ride horses like they are meant to be ridden, from trotting to full on galloping.
