2023 Colorado Winter Activities

Here we are another winter season and there are a host of activities to do. Snowmobiling tops the list from tours with professional guides to renting one on your own. Ride through the trees to open bowls above treeline and up to the continental divide with unbelievable views. Next go on a dog sled ride where you can actually mush the dogs. Popular for families, groups or couples is taking a dinner sleigh ride through forested trails and back for a delicious meal and entertainment. There are adventures such as ziplining, horseback riding through the snow, ice climbing with professional guides for beginners as well as the experienced climber. Try ice fishing for the fisherman in you or relax and take a train tour through the Rocky Mountains or join Joel for a cannabis tour and to bars or  breweries for a fun night with plenty of laughs and see Joel perform magic tricks in front of your eyes. Have a memorable mountain experience!!

ATV, UTV and Jeep Tours in Colorado

Here we are in August and now is the time to get out and explore the back country of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The best way is to take out an ATV, Jeep or a side by side. These backcountry vehicles are available to rent and allows you to explore on your own or to take a guided tour with a professional guide.

COVID-19 and enjoying activities in the mountains of Colorado

Yes we are in a pandemic and COVID-19 will be around for a while. www.ColoradoMountAinactivities.com and www.ActivitiesinColorado.com work with a number of activity providers ( outfitters) and they have put in place all the necessary safety measures to ensure you a safe and enjoyable experience. These activities include whitewater rafting from relaxing class one float trips to exciting class five rapids for the experienced.

Fitness Conditioning for Mountaineering

Fitness conditioning for mountaineering becomes an even greater focus for me as winter gains momentum and the snow continues to fly. In preparation for a winter of guiding backcountry ski touring and mountaineering, as well as leading avalanche education courses, i think about what is most important at this stage of the game – if I’ve kept up with strength training, it’s cardio and core.
